Homework is essential. It is a time for students to independently practice what they have learned in class.
In 5th grade, students will have homework every night.
Reading- Students should read at least 30 minutes each night. This could be reading independently, to a friend or family member.
Math- There will be math homework every night. This homework is intended to be challenging and to push students to solve math problems independently.
Writing- There will be writing homework most nights. In 5th grade students will practice writing personal narratives, argument/opinion writing, and informational.
Science/Social Studies- Some nights students will have science or social studies hoemwork based on what we are studying at the time. This could include writing about experiments to working on projects.
